Monday back to work but not as usual. Nothing will be as usual any more; there's going to be a new as usual emerge from this shit storm.

Here's some quotes we've got from people emailing us:

From Valerie Stevenson:

I've adopted a philosophy of loving everyone
unconditionally.....Tuesday morning that went out the window as feelings
of outrage, revenge and retribution flooded my soul. As I read the
message below....I realized just how easy it is for these terrorists to
control my feelings.....
We can not give in, we must be strong and send the message of
love to all. We are truly at a turning point, both politically and
emotionally as a nation. We have the opportunity to rally all of our
allies and some that have skated on the semi-ally position....they are
ready to follow us......leadership in a message of love and not war

From the Miami Herald:

What lesson did you hope to teach us by your coward's attack on our World
Trade Center, our Pentagon, us? What was it you hoped we would learn?
Whatever it was, please know that you failed.

From Jimmy Spear:

There just seems to be so much revenge on peoples' minds. It doesn't seem to me that that is the answer. We are all so mad, I just hope we can get pass this feeling, and not use it against other innocent people. I never felt unsafe after the
explosions until my President took his plane from Florida and hid in
Louisiana. And then to a bunker in the ground in bum fuck Nebraska.
I am surprised that he didn't fly to Houston to see momma.

From Lani:

the
acts of 9/11 are heinous by any standards......... but there must be some
concurrent, self-correction in the way we Americans go about our business.  I
truley believe in more satifaction with afforded 'things' that simply satisfy
our basic needs.....

From Taman Ansiry:

I am from Afghanistan.the Taliban and Bin
Laden are not Afghanistan. there are 500,000 disabled orphans in Afghanistan-a
country with no economy, no food. We come now to the question of bombing Afghanistan back to the Stone Age.
Trouble with that scheme is, it's already been done. The Soviets took care
of it. I don't have a
solution. But I do believe that suffering and poverty are the soil in which
terrorism grows.

From Anna Pozyck

I totally 100% believe that we, as a country should use our resources to
implant all these nations with huge sound systems and blast them with 12
hour intervals of nothing but good spiritually uplifting music of all
sorts, the kind of music that one hears and says "Wow!!
I mean didn't we always learn that being good, sharing, helping, and caring are the keys to life. Why not provide them with something we as a society hold
dearly...our music!!!!!!!!!

From Ionna:

reminiscent of Pompeii
or ovens taking rule
spewing forth the venom
of ignorance gone mad

From John Barlow:

Nothing could serve those who believe that American
"safety" is more important than American liberty better than
something like this. Control freaks will dine on this day for the
rest of our lives.

From Eric in Brooklyn who watched it all from his rooftop:

Everyone around here knows someone who knows someone who was killed, if not personally. New York City has been attacked and violence has caused the destruction of families and individuals. Another lesson to me. Violence is bad. Peace on Earth. Peace in the universe.

From an editorial in the Seattle Times:

Maybe you just wanted us to know the depths of your hatred. If that's the case, consider the message received. And take this message in exchange: You don't know my people. You don't know what we're about. You don't know what you just started.

From Deepak Chopra:

Everyone is calling this an attack on America, but is it not a rift in our
collective soul? Isn't this an attack on civilization from without that is
also from within? None of us will feel safe again behind the shield of military might and stockpiled arsenals. There can be no safety until the root cause is faced. In this moment of shock I don't
think any one of us has the answers. It is imperative that we pray and offer solace and help to each other. But if you and I are having a single thought of violence or hatred against anyone in the world at this moment, we are contributing to the wounding of the world.

From Michael Moore:

One Senator on CNN said he didn't want to hear any more talk
about more money for education or health care - we should have only one priority: our self-defense.

Will we ever get to the point that we realize we will be more secure when the rest of the world isn't living in poverty so we can have nice running shoes?

Well, I have to go pick up my daughter from soccer practice so I'll sign off for now and pick it up again tomorrow. One thing to leave with you is a fantastic website listing names of survivors that a computer programmer in NYC opened the day everything happened. Check it out.
