From near to far, here and there, over the river and through the woods, past Grandma Whittier's house we come. Old and new, young and old - Pranksters are once again descending on Pleasant Hill. Home to Mount Pisgah, neighbor to the town of Goshen, both derived from biblical references bestowed upon the region by eighteenth century Christian settlers . Some of the twenty-first century residents here still subscribe to the same religious zeal. But that has never stopped the Prankster inhabitants from having fun. Raised in the middle of this beautiful valley, Ken Elton Kesey was the creative spark who inspired several generations with his thoughts, actions, and writing.

The historical significance of all this is debatable as is any concept these days. What is not is the fact that the Bus Further is on the road again. Kesey claimed this was his greatest work of art. He also said that we don't build character, we build spirit. "You see, when someone dies, their character goes away, but their spirit lives on".

So let's live on. God fearing citizens, Pranksters, Agnostics, Bozos, Leftists, Rightests, Brothers, Sisters - hit the road jack, everybody must get stoned... in one way - or another!

The Bus will embark today from the Kesey farm traveling cacophonously past fields of winter wheat and mowed hay, herds of red bull and hereford cattle, toward Eugene in search of Mighty Ducks and mighty fun.
